Fractus supports the STEM talent through the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub

June 10, 2024, Barcelona – Fractus has launched the Talent Program through the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC). This initiative aims to promote the training and specialization of students in various engineering fields through scholarships, prizes, and technological challenges.

Ruben Bonet, co-founder and CEO of Fractus stated, “It is an honor to support the talent of young students and offer them opportunities to create innovative projects that respond to current challenges.” Anna Mujal, UPC Vice Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs, added, “Our students have the potential to transform society, and it is essential to encourage and reward it.”

Scholarships for the best academic records and awards for the best TFM

The program includes scholarships for the best academic records of ETSETB and FIB bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as awards for the best master’s theses (TFM) from various UPC schools. Additionally, it poses technological challenges in the subject Advanced Engineering Project (PAE), where students will develop solutions based on Deep Tech technologies.

Supporting female talent in STEM

Fractus also supports the Top Rosies Talent program, aimed at promoting the inclusion of women in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. This program offers training and connection to the professional world, as well as scholarships to pursue the inter-university master’s degree in AI.

Participation in the Challenge Based Innovation (CBI) gala

Within the framework of the Fractus-UPC Deep Tech Hub, Fractus participated in the 10th anniversary gala of the Challenge Based Innovation (CBI), a European program that seeks innovative solutions to social challenges. In the last edition, 43 students from UPC, Esade and IED Barcelona presented proposals to combat environmental pollution in Geneva.

With these actions, Fractus reinforces its commitment to the development of future professionals in the technological field, responding to the growing demand for engineers in Spain.

The UPC-Fractus Deep Tech Hub was born in September 2022 after a collaboration agreement between the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) and the company Fractus, with the aim of responding to current challenges through significant scientific and technological advances that shape the future and have a real impact on our society.
